A MESSAGE FROM ESQUIRE RECORDS

The video Ukrainian Pie has had over 1.8 billion views on TikTok and 349,000 views on YouTube and is becoming a global sensation. "Ukrainian Pie song" has over 59M views on Tiktok. I understand that it is now being played on Ukrainian radio. I wish to take this opportunity to thank the people who have supported the song as it heads towards going viral.

I have read the emotional comments of people around the globe reacting to the song, particularly those of people in Ukraine and of Ukrainian descent.

I hope in some small way this song inspires the Ukrainian people to fight on to victory. Please know that those of us here in the United States and other peace loving nations have you in our hearts8

This song is tribute to the courage and fighting spirit of a great nation, and the magical music and lyrics of the greatest American popular song of all time—
American Pie.

Lyrics by Hal Pollock. Performed by Alex Kozar of Kyiv Ukraine,
Recorded in Kyiv Ukraine at Crystal Sound Recording Studio

Proceeds generated from the sale of the song will be donated to humanitarian causes for the Ukrainian people through the Ukrainian government.

Join us in the campaign to support the people of the Ukraine with a new anthem that will inspire, entertain, and raise needed funds for humanitarian relief.

As we enter the year 2023 and another year of war this is my wish for a better world.

If There’s a God in Heaven

By Hal Pollock

December 18, 2022

I am looking to the Heavens
But no answer do I see
And I ask myself the question
How can all this killing be?
For if there’s a God in Heaven
He would never let this be
All this killing of his children
All this suffering we see

He would take us by the hand
Lead us to a brighter day
Bring an end to all this madness
He would show us all the way
For if there’s a God in Heaven
An end to war would finally be
We would all just love each other
Live in peace and harmony

Won’t you give us all a sign?
Let your plan and will be done
So we all may know your glory
And a lasting peace begun
Every father every daughter
Every mother every son
Join with me to find the answer
Peace on Earth for everyone

We don’t need to look above
To find the answer that we seek
We need only look inside
It is in the words we speak
It is up to you and me
To make this world a better place
Where all people can be free
And live as one united race

I know there’s a God in Heaven
Watching down on you and me
If we all just work together
Then one day he’ll surely see
All his children of the world
Joining hands in prayer and song
When the people of the world
To one family belong

MUSIC EVENT!

1964 the Tribute

The No. 1 Beatle tribute band in the world

Beatles Inspire the Opening of

The In Spot

Dance & Night Club

Eastgate Coliseum
Mayfield Heights, Ohio

In May 1967 my dad opened a side business; a teen club.
Meeting the Beatles infected him with the music bug and
made him want to become a music promoter.

We debated over the name of the club. I wanted to call it The Fallout Shelter. This was not long after the Cuban missile crisis so I was conversant with that term. My parents wanted to call the club The In Spot. My parents won.

That was the time period of the Greasers and the Squids. The Greasers were the kids with slicked back hair and leather jackets. The Squids were “the collegiates;” beige cuffed pants, Madress shirts, and penny loafers. I was a Squid.

The Greasers loved soul music. The Squids loved rock. Each group wanted to claim the club as their own. We settled on Friday night as Greaser night, Saturday night as Squid night. Sunday afternoons were up for grabs.

The In Spot was located in a large rectangular entertainment facility in Mayfield Heights, Ohio known as the Eastgate Coliseum. The Coliseum opened in 1960. It was a very cool place to spend a few hours, an afternoon or an evening. It had 50 bowling lanes, an Olympic-size indoor swimming pool, an indoor miniature golf course, a huge game room, billiard tables, and a party center. The party center later became the In Spot.

Many wonderful groups and artists played The In Spot. Mostly local talent, but some national acts. It became a legendary Cleveland teen club. Eric Carmen and his high school band The Sounds of Silence with Marty Murphy were regulars. The James Gang, the teen group of Glenn Schwartz, Jimmy Fox, and Dale Peters.

Glenn was later replaced by Joe Walsh and Glenn Schwartz joined Pacific Gas & Electric and scored a hit with Are You Ready? Cleveland legend Michael Stanley with the Tree Stumps. Bocky and the Visions. Pittsburgh's Jaggerz performing The Rapper. Then came Wicked Wilson Pickett to sing Funky Broadway and In the Midnight Hour. I still remember Wilson with my dad and I in the office before the show. He was upset. The club was initially a soul club, and the Greasers loved soul music. In particular Wilson. We figured bringing Wilson Pickett in the flesh would pack the house. But the club was in a white suburb, and the Greasers did not cotton to us bringing a Black act. The picketed Pickett. Not with signs, they just didn’t show up. Because the crowd was small Wilson refused to go on stage unless we paid him first - in cash. My dad peeled off $3,700.00 in greenbacks. Wilson took the stage and put on an unbelievable show.

Let There Be Peace

Imagine if you can a world that lives in harmony
Where people of all nations love each other and are free
Is it possible one day this is a vision we might see?
The people or world joining hands to let it be?

Why are we always killing each other?
Taking up arms against our own brother?
Isn’t it time to love one another?
Let the whole world live in peace

Let there be peace across the land
And love no matter where you stand
If only life could be so grand
Let there be peace

Why can’t we all just work together to find a common ground?
What does it take and will we ever turn this world around?
Lay down our arms extend a hand fight for the greater good
Finally have the kind of world we always knew we could

How many brothers have to die?
How many mothers have to cry?
Is there still hope for you and I
To find a lasting peace?

Join me in just this simple prayer
That all God’s children one day share
Here and there and everywhere
A true and lasting peace

Let there be peace across the land
And love no matter where you stand
Reach out and touch somebody’s hand
Let there be peace

John Says Hello

People who write songs often say that they feel that someone is using them as a channel. I have felt that way at times. It was the morning of August 14, 2022, exactly fifty eight years from the day I saw the Beatles at Cleveland Stadium. I jumped out of bed, just another day in a life, and immediately saw the title in my mind’s eye - Let There Be Peace. I thought about John, the first Beatle to file past me at after the kids chased them off the stage. He was smiling and chuckling (thought it was funny), carrying his guitar in his left hand as he said “Hello.” The affable John, the picture of youth. There was a glow about him. He headed straight into the trailer, a few feet away, that my dad had secured for the Beatles.

It sat directly behind the stage at second base. The trailer contained four little cubicles that we had decorated for each of the Beatles in their favorite color. A zebra skinned couch in the living room where the Beatles would sit while being interviewed by reporters and DJs. Moments later I would spend the next 45 minutes with the Beatles in that trailer, as the kids rocked the trailer trying to get them out. I was forever changed.

I thought about what John would say about the war in Ukraine if he were alive today. How he would plea for peace. How perhaps he could have worked his magic. I sat down at the computer and the words just fell out, all in an rush, almost intact, as they often do. I was that kid again, standing in the shadow of the great John Lennon, like he was using me as his channel.

It is now the morning of August 17, 2022. I just realized that Let There Be Peace came on the morning of the 58th anniversary of my seeing the Beatles. Thank you John.

The Song For America

(For Which We Stand)

Lyrics by Hal Pollock

For every man this land must be
A place of hope and liberty
Where each man can be truly free
To realize his destiny

For every woman let there be
An equal opportunity
To lead in our society
And still to raise a family

For every child in this land
We all must lend a helping hand
So they may come to understand
The dreams that make this country grand

For every man let freedom ring
For every woman let us sing
For every child in this land
These are the things for which we stand

With every morning that we rise
Pay homage to the flag that flies
The stars and stripes that symbolize
The peace we find in these fair skies

God bless this land that we hold dear
To which we come from far and near
In search of peace and without fear
For liberties that we find here

For every man let freedom ring
For every woman let us sing
For every child in this land
These are the things for which we stand

UNBREAKABLE

Unbreakable

As Russia invades Ukraine in an unprovoked and outrageous act, brave Ukrainians defend their country and the people they love.

Hear Evgeny Khmara perform the song Fight in the Ukraine in the video below:

A Bridge Too Far

Lyrics by Hal Pollock

We watched the bombs fall from afar
Safe in the homes we love
As people that we called our friends
Became the victims of
A cruel and unjust war
In which so many had to die
People who just wanted peace
The same as you and I

They stood their ground
They showed no fear
We watched so many fall
All in the name of freedom
All for one and one for all

So many lost
And all in vain
A blitzkrieg full of fire and rain
Young and old
We let them die
And now so many left to cry

It’s a tale as old as time
That when you let evil win
The evil just grows stronger
Till one day it pulls you in

We call ourselves home of the brave
But that is not how we behave
We let them smite democracy
People just like you and me
We wonder if we’ve done enough
And what will be their fate
This much we know for certain
No one can ever conquer hate

When you let evil have its way
And plan to fight another day
You simply let the evil get much stronger
Till one day it is at your door
You find again just like before
You can’t avoid the evil any longer

It’s such a simple lesson
When it comes to bold aggression
That to let it flourish is to ask for more
For when you feed the fire
The flames will just grow higher
Till one day they are burning down your door

There is a bridge a world away
A bridge we cannot cross
We cannot do what must be done
We’ll measure up the loss
For it is just a bridge too far
And one day may be lost
Leaving us to wonder
What will be the final cost

Let The Children Die

Let The Children Die

Lyrics by Hal Pollock

People of America
Are you watching this with me?
Do you see them killing children?
Do you wonder what will be?
Though it’s over twenty years now
Since we said “Never Again”
The only thing that’s changed
Is that we have more deaths than then

Certain of our leaders
Have sold their souls say I
They take money from the devil
To let our children die
Shame on every one of them
To let this killing be
Do the children have to be their own
Before they come to see?

Leaders of America
What do you say to me?
Are you going to stop this killing
Or will you just let this be?
Can you feel the pain and anguish
Of the families that cry?
When they ask how you can stand there
And just let their children die?

Of all the countries in the world
This only happens here
That children and their parents
Have to live in constant fear
When you look into the mirror?
What do you see upon your face?
Do you see our murdered children?
Our American disgrace

Who will save the children
From our leaderships’ blind eye?
When a shooter’s in their classroom
And we leave them there to die
For these are all our children
Who depend on you and me
They cannot save themselves
Amidst all this hypocrisy

And what of our policemen
Who stand hiding safe outside?
When every second counts
They leave the killers to decide
The fate of all our children
Our daughters and our sons
When policemen lack the courage
To do what’s needed done

It is time that we unite
And end this saddest tragedy
Send a message to our leaders
That we will not let this be
We must all stand up together
For it’s up to you and I
To show the courage and conviction
Not to let the children die

All good people of this country
Will you now join hands with me?
Say it loud and say it clear
To make sure they hear our plea
So what say you our leaders
To the families that cry?
Are you prepared to do what’s right
Or let the children die?
